Notes for a young price

Alexi Lubomirski, one of the most talented and popular fashion photographers who worked with (just to name a few) Miranda Kerr, Lupita Nyongo, Anne Hathaway, Beyonce, Cate Blanchett, Demi Moore, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, for the high-gloss magazines like Allure, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar and numerous others is a Prince. What is more, a Polish Prince. His Serene Highness Prince Alexi Lubomirski of the Polish house of Lubomirski. Like how often can you meet a prince in the real life?

H.S.H. was born to a Peruvian mother and a Polish father into a Lubomirski family that has been present in the history of Poland since the 10th century. The London-born, New York-based Lubomirski learned of his royal status at age eleven.

Surprised? Wait a second, that’s not everything. Prince Lubomirski has published a book. Once his mother told him If you are to be a prince in today’s world, you have to be a prince in your heart and in your actions. These words inspired him to write Notes for a Young Prince. The book, dedicated to his sons Sole Luka and Leone, is a collection of one-page letters that are royal-worthy lessons for princes, princesses, and all young people alike.

It’s about all the elements that a prince should have: charm, chivalry, courage, charity, honor, romance, he says. Let’s see if it is true:

When meeting a woman, always arrive early so that she is not left waiting. Check.

When dining with a woman, give her the seat facing out with a view of the restaurant whilst you take the seat facing in. She will be free to enjoy the view and the people, but your attention will be on her and her alone. Check.

Your most powerful weapon is your smile. Use it to shed light onto any situation. And, again, check.

Well, it is no doubt that the disarmingly charming Prince Lubomirski is a shining exemplar of his own advice. And the last question: what would a true prince do with a book once it's published? Donate 100 percent of its profits to charity Concerns Worldwide, a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to reducing extreme poverty in world’s poorest countries. This man is just too good to be true!
